Oaks Aerts Gone for Year Sunday, June 26th , 2050 MSL Oakland starting pitcher Bertil Aerts could miss the remainder of the season because of an arthritic elbow. He exited yesterday's MSL D.C. game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Aerts would be out 4 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that." This year Aerts has fashioned a 0-0 mark, 2.79 ERA and pitched 9.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .263 against him and he has logged 9 strikeouts. |
