Hit Streak Now at 20 for Murphy Saturday, September 3rd , 2050 The Flint Crush fell to the Canonniers de Quebec in Paints Ballpark today, even as 19-year-old left fielder Eugene Murphy upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Murphy finished with 2 hits in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Crush from dropping the 10-3 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Murphy. Eugene Murphy grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and singled in the 9th. So far this year Murphy is batting .256 with 19 home runs, 55 RBIs and 47 runs scored. |
