Vega Jacks 3 into the Stands
Thursday, September 1st , 2050
Iván Vega went yard three times in a Quebec City Baby Blues victory over the Crowley Cajuns at Dylan Park today.
"I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit."
For the day, the Quebec City third baseman went 3-for-5 against Crowley with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Baby Blues to the 8-2 win.
"I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out."
Iván Vega hit a solo-shot off Bong-ok Noe in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Edgardo Fernández in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Vendelin Pyc in the 8th.
This year Vega has 30 home runs and a .315 batting average.
