League Punishes Pair for Fighting
Friday, June 24th , 2050
Yesterday at Hound Pound Franck Terwey and Jerry Perry got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Hicksville Hounds and Plattsburgh Puffer Fish. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.
Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Terwey will have to sit out 4 while Perry would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.
For the year Terwey has hit at a .230 clip with 17 RBIs, 6 home runs and 12 runs scored.
This year Perry has no relief appearances, saving 0. His record is 5-3 with 72 strikeouts in 64 innings and a 3.23 ERA.
