League Punishes Pair for Fighting
Friday, September 16th , 2050
If there wasn't a history between Jorge Costa of Gwinnett and José Hernández of Virginia Beach, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 6 and 12 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Costa said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
On the season, Costa is batting .224 with 2 home runs and 14 RBIs. He has played in 43 games.
Hernández has 14 saves in 25 relief appearances this season with a 2-0 mark and 5.84 ERA. In 24.2 innings he has 32 strikeouts and 18 walks. Other clubs are hitting .253 against him.
