Season Over for Ángel Hernández in Ithaca
Monday, July 11th , 2050
The doctors have spoken and Ángel Hernández of the Ithaca Fighting Imps didn't like what he heard. The 25-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Hernández sustained his season-ending injury during the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs game yesterday at Imps Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Ithaca medical staff reported Hernández had a bone spur in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5 months.
This season Hernández has been credited with 2 saves. In 12 relief appearances and 11.1 innings he has a 3-1 won-lost mark, 6.35 ERA and 16 strikeouts
