Guzmán Belts 3 HRs
Sunday, May 8th , 2050
It was a good day for the Minnesota Loons and an exceptional one for Juan Guzmán. The 25-year-old center fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Loons beat the Providence Pilgrims 6-5 at Field of Plenty.
"When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Guzmán said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day."
For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 4 runs and smacked 3 hits in 5 at-bats.
Juan Guzmán hit a two-run home run off Nicolas Gomes in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Nicolas Gomes in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Rodger Asmus in the 9th.
Currently Guzmán is hitting .200 and has collected 3 home runs, 4 RBIs and scored 5 times, while playing in 5 games.
