PAAA Names Valdéz Outstanding Pitcher Award Winner Saturday, October 8th , 2050 The Salt Lake City Buzz have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Jorge Valdéz, this year's USPL Triple A Outstanding Pitcher Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Valdéz compiled a 11-5 record in 20 starts, tallied 100 strikeouts in 132.1 innings and recorded a 2.45 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .195 batting average against him. He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 10. Jamie Miller of the Athletic Club KC Reserves finished second in voting, while Michael Shepard of the Alaskan Humpbacks finished third.
