Valentín Hit String Snapped at 22 Thursday, August 25th , 2050 Baton Rouge defeated Jersey City 7-4 today at Brass Field, but saw the 22-game hitting streak of Brass second baseman Sergio Valentín snapped -- the Tritons held Valentín hitless in 4 at-bats. "I enjoyed the streak," he said in a BNN interview after the game. "It's great in one way, but the day-to-day pressure to keep it going can be tough to handle, too. The main thing is we got the win today. That's all that really counts." Valentín is currently batting .318 with 9 home runs and 33 RBIs. |
