Gobbles-Rooster on Fire: Burns Thunder Bay with 3 HR Wednesday, June 15th , 2050 Toledo Stingers third baseman Meester Gobbles-Rooster had a magnificent game against the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC today, rocketing three balls out of Great Northern Field to help the Stingers take the 9-7 victory. "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes." For the game, Gobbles-Rooster went 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Toledo manager TJ Reynolds said later. "Seems like Meester found his home run stroke today." Meester Gobbles-Rooster flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Hakizimana Kipkorir in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Hakizimana Kipkorir in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Nolan McGowan in the 8th. So far this season, Gobbles-Rooster has recorded a .274 batting average with 34 hits, 8 home runs, 27 RBIs, 24 runs scored and a .302 OBP. |
