Gloves Found, Ivey Rejoices Friday, July 29th , 2050 A while back we brought you the story of the poor Echo Park Lakers's starting pitcher who was honestly devastated by the loss of his lucky college batting gloves. Today, the gloves suddenly turned up in the strangest of places. Said teammate, León Martínez, "I found them in my underwear drawer...seriously. As soon as I found them, I got them back to Mitch. I didn't even ask for a finder's fee and besides, I couldn't wait to get rid of them - they really stank." No details on how the gloves got in Martínez's underwear drawer and perhaps that is for the best. For his part, Mitch Ivey was ecstatic. Telling the Echo Park Herald, "I put them on right away - it felt so good to have them back. I can't wait to get back out there and face pitching again with these on." |
