Saturday, September 24th , 2050
He may have less experience than most of his USSL Single A peers, but that didn't slow Koji Sugisata down at all in 2050.
At the age of 22, the South Beach right fielder has been named the winner of the USSL Single A Outstanding Hitter Award.
He had a .259 batting average and a .338 on-base percentage this year. In 96 games he piled up 90 hits, 21 doubles, 6 triples, 18 home runs, 65 RBIs and 48 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 10. Doug Miller of the Kingston Mangos finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Gustavo Pérez of the Levittown Blue Dragons finished third with 1 first place vote.
