SA's Best Starter is Lai Thursday, September 1st , 2050 This month the USSL Single A spotlight fell on pitcher Li-zhi Lai of the Kingston Mangos. What a August he had! A fine 5-0 won-lost record, 0.50 ERA, 6 starts, 35.2 innings pitched and 57 strikeouts -- good enough to get him the SA Pitcher of the Month. Up to now Lai has compiled an ERA of 1.14 with a 11-1 mark over 20 starts. He has 154 strikeouts in 110.1 innings and has held opponents to a .162 batting average. |
