Lakers Stop Lighthouse, 5-2
The Echo Park Lakers faced a tough opponent in Long Island pitcher Mike Bennett, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Lighthouse by a final score of 5-2. Bennett went 6 innings and allowed 4 runs. Danny Kas locked down his 19th save. Echo Park is now 44-46, Long Island 38-52.

The Lighthouse had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Lakers going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old third baseman Ronald Lithgoe came to the plate. Lithgoe hit a solo home run on a 2-2 fastball from Long Island hurler Mike Bennett. It was Lithgoe's 4th home run of the year.

"They played a better game than we did," said Long Island skipper Michael Esposito.
