Patriots Get Past Baltimore for 2-1 Win
|
Boston and Baltimore played a hard-fought contest.
The Boston Patriots eked out a 2-1 win versus the Baltimore Bullets at Baltimore Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Luis Rosário. He was terrific. The winner in relief was Adrián Gómez. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 2-2. Greg King finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
Boston used the clutch hitting of Juan Andrés Martí to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Patriots ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Baltimore skipper Brandon Slouck, "and it cost us."
The Bullets, at 48-41, have lost 4 in a row.
