Kingfishers Take Down Bullets, 2-1

Both teams had their chances, but the Pittsburgh Kingfishers eventually prevailed.
Pittsburgh turned a good effort from starter Júlio Castillo into a win over the Baltimore Bullets at Baltimore Grounds. The final score was 2-1. The winner was Pittsburgh reliever Félix González, now 3-2. The loser was Ron Lucas.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Jorge Napolez's at-bat in the top of the ninth was vitally important. With one out, the Pittsburgh designated hitter hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
Napolez told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
Pittsburgh is now 48-39.
