Lighthouse Earn 3-2 Win Against Grey Wolves
|
The Long Island Lighthouse did just enough to sneak past the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 3-2, at Wolf Den in Vancouver. Long Island pitcher Mike Bennett, in particular, had a standout performance. The win puts Long Island at 31-45.
Long Island used the timely hitting of Mark Thomas to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Lighthouse on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I was a little disappointed," said Vancouver manager David Krause. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
