Home Field Advantage: Vowles, Cut Off Open PL A Championship with Win
|
The Cut Off Crawdads powered past the visiting Huntington Hermit Crabs, 9-5, in the opener of the PL A Championship at Crawdads Field today. Cut Off center fielder Joseph Vowles was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4, to lead the charge. The Crawdads now lead the series 1-0.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the seventh when Vowles, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2050 draft, hit a grand slam home run. It propelled the Crawdads into the lead, 9-5.
"I like winning," Vowles told the Cut Off Chronicle. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Crawdads Field in Cut Off.
