Cordero, Hamilton Open R1 Strong with 12-3 Win
At an age when many of his peers are still toiling in the minor leagues, Tony Cordero was on the biggest stage of all.

The 23-year-old rookie third baseman was terrific at Coyote Wildlife Refuge today with a stirring hitting performance. Cordero was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once in a fireworks-filled, 12-3 Hamilton Thunderbirds win over the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds. The win gives the Thunderbirds a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 3L AAA Championship.

The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Cordero, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2049 draft, hit a grand slam home run. It propelled the Thunderbirds into the lead, 4-0.

Fighting Dachshunds manager Justin Broadfoot did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the 3L AAA Championship."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Coyote Wildlife Refuge in Hamilton.
