Cattlemen Rally For Late Win Over Flamingos
|
The MSL Las Vegas Flamingos got a superb performance from pitcher Lou Anderson, but the MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen still won the game, 6-4. Anderson threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. Gustavo Villa picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Jens van de Vlugt was tagged with the loss. Picking up the save was Esteban Aguilar, his 7th.
MSL Ft. Worth used a timely hit from Jack Andrews to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cattlemen ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Andrews.
The Cattlemen, at 19-24, sit in 6th place in the SL MSL.
