Kingfishers Defeat Lighthouse, 3-2
|
The MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers scored a tight 3-2 win versus the MSL Long Island Lighthouse at MSL Long Island Ballpark. MSL Pittsburgh pitcher Juan Rodríguez held his own in the contest. Connor Clow came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record now stands at 1-2. The win makes MSL Pittsburgh 11-18.
MSL Pittsburgh used the timely hitting of Bill Callahan to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Kingfishers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Rodríguez told the MSL Pittsburgh Daily.
