Kingfishers Deal Patriots 8-7 Setback
The MSL Boston Patriots got a sterling performance from left fielder Orlando Rodríguez, but the MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers still prevailed, 8-7. Rodríguez hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Juan Rodríguez, the winner, improved to 1-2. He held MSL Boston to 3 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. The Kingfishers raised their record to 9-14.

The Kingfishers got an important contribution from second baseman José De La Cruz, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a 1-0 sinker into center for a bases-clearing double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Kingfishers ahead, 8-3.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Kingfishers manager Ricky Miller. "This one was nice to get."
