The MSL Charleston Battery beat the MSL Toledo Stingers, 5-2, at MSL Toledo Ballpark. Johnny Sawyer, in particular, was impressive. He went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. MSL Charleston reliever Turkka Rouhiainen was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Manchu Yong took the loss. Gerbrand Kodde earned the save, his 3rd.

MSL Charleston used the timely hitting of Shigochiyo Kobayashi to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Battery on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Enjoyed this one," Kobayashi told the MSL Charleston Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

The 4th-place Battery sport a record of 19-15.
