Lakers Take Down Kingfishers, 4-3
|
The MSL Echo Park Lakers wiggled past the MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 4-3, at MSL Echo Park Ballpark. The win was highlighted by the performance of MSL Echo Park pitcher Fernando Rivera. The winner in relief was Yoshihide Ichikawa. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. With the victory, the Lakers upped their record to 11-3.
The Lakers procured the win, in large part because of third baseman Shu-yen Fu. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"Exciting game to play in," said Fu. "Getting the win makes it even better."
