Petty Twirls a Gem for Las Vegas
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos went home winners at LA Forum, thanks in large part to starter Sidney Petty. Petty stifled the Echo Park Lakers, enabling Las Vegas to grab the 1-0 win. The 7th-place Flamingos improved to 30-31.
Petty's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 8 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 5 hits. Petty, who finished 5th in the SL in innings pitched with 143.2 in 2048, goes to 8-2 on the year with 72 strikeouts.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Petty after the game.
