|
MSL San Mateo Dirty Reds starter Tolutau Heketa was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the MSL Athletic Club KC U-18, 6-2. The winning pitcher was Heketa, now 4-2. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. The Dirty Reds, at 28-19, have now won 4 straight.
MSL San Mateo needed the clutch hitting of Larry Matthews to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dirty Reds on top, 5-1. For the game, Matthews had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Heketa.
