Win Streak Now at 6 for Mockingbirds
|
MSL Mississippi Mockingbirds starter Reynaldo López was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the MSL Greenville 84s, 2-1. López, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Toshiki Hara picked up the save, his 3rd.
MSL Mississippi used the timely hitting of Juan Suarze to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mockingbirds on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Runs were at a premium," said MSL Mississippi manager Ken McDowell.
MSL Mississippi has now won 6 straight.
