MSL Colorado Topples MSL Northern Virginia, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring clash between MSL Colorado and MSL Northern Virginia, pitcher Frank Wilson was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. In 7.2 innings, Wilson surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Tony Ayala, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.
MSL Colorado used the timely hitting of Dale McKinney to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Billy Goats ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Frank was pounding the zone," said MSL Colorado manager Mike Norman.
MSL Colorado bumps their record to 16-17 with the win.
