Mezzatesta Lifts Voodoo to 11-7 Triumph
The performance of Fernando Mezzatesta proved critical in helping MSL New Orleans beat MSL Buffalo, 11-7. The Voodoo third baseman was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Juan Cafagna picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Bonie Rendora was tagged with the loss. The Voodoo improve their record to 16-15 with the win over MSL Buffalo.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Esa Miettinen came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing MSL Buffalo pitcher Bonie Rendora, he hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting MSL New Orleans on top, 9-7.

"We take it day by day here," said Mezzatesta, "and today was a good one for us."
