MSL San Mateo starter Sherman Travis pitched well against the MSL Buffalo White Walkers at MSL San Mateo Ballpark. The left-hander led his team to a win, 8-5. Travis went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 2-1. The Dirty Reds move to 8-6 with the win, while the White Walkers drop to 7-7.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Carlos Pérez was at the plate when MSL San Mateo scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Dirty Reds to go in front, 3-2.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Pérez said. "We did a good job of that today."
