Sea Dogs Stick Ducks with 3-1 Loss
|
Long Island got a terrific performance from pitcher Terrence Ramsey, but it wasn't enough to beat the Maine Sea Dogs. Maine won the Ducks Park contest, 3-1. Ramsey threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Maine reliever Jason Minor was credited with the win, to go to 5-1. Terrence Ramsey took the loss for Long Island. Wes Bailey nailed down his 11th save.
Maine used the bat of Lex Munten to get the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Sea Dogs ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Munten told the Maine Times. "You win just by scoring more runs."
Their 32-37 record puts the Sea Dogs 7th in the Menard's Low A.
