Rodríguez Lifts Trash Pandas to 4-2 Triumph
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Watford City Trash Pandas got the win.
The Watford City Trash Pandas beat the Flint Crush, 4-2, at Flint Park. The Trash Pandas got a fine performance from shortstop Mario Rodríguez, who belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Kim-Hu Tung picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 3-3. Bob Flannery earned the save for Watford City, his 7th of the year.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth when Rodríguez, who is tied for 6th in the 3A- with a .575 slugging percentage, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Trash Pandas into the lead, 3-1.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Rodríguez told the Watford City Daily.
Watford City now sits in second place in the Menard's Low A at 42-21.
