The Ballard Beavers topped the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 4-3, in M3L Low A action at The Igloo. The standout performance belonged to Ballard pitcher and Gwangju, South Korea, native Sae-wan Chong. In 6.1 innings, Chong surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. With the victory, the Beavers record now stands at 33-29.

Ballard used a well-timed hit by Lenny Hacking to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Beavers ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"It was our day today," Hacking told the Ballard Bulletin. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
