|
In a close game at Alouettes Ballpark, the Franklin Fire edged the Capital Hill Interns, 5-4. Franklin designated hitter Jim Hrnjak stood apart with his performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3. Franklin, at 24-33, occupies 9th place in the Menard's Low A.
Franklin used a clutch hit from Lucas Robles to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Fire ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a doozy.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Capital Hill manager Vincent Parker. "But we decided not to take it."
