Ladue starter Naohiro Ueno pitched well against the Long Island Ducks at Ballpark of Wellsville. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. Ladue, at 33-14, is 2½ games up in the Menard's Low A.
The Rams benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the first. With Étienne Duchesne at bat and Ladue leading 2-0, the Long Island miscue allowed Ladue to plate 2 and take the lead, 4-0.
"It was a good effort all around," said Duchesne.
