Rocketeers Prevail, 5-1, in 12 Innings
|
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at LA Forum.
Howard Randolph was superb against Echo Park. The right-hander, who is tied for 4th in the SL with a 1.70 ERA, had a changeup that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Rocketeers victory. The score was 5-1. Seattle bumps their record to 24-21 with the win.
Randolph, a native of Austin, Texas, was dealing all game. He kept Echo Park hitters off-balance, while giving the Rocketeers 7.1 quality innings. Randolph threw 90 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 10.
"Howard -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Rocketeers manager James Walker. "He was the key to us winning."
