Schmidt Lifts Warheads to 8-6 Win
Wayne Schmidt made an impact in the 8-6 Amarillo win over Shady Side. Schmidt, who is tied for 8th in the SA- in bases on balls with 42, was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Amarillo is now riding a 3-game win streak.

The Warheads got a big at-bat from right fielder Francisco Cardenas. For the game, Cardenas went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 16th home run of the season gave Amarillo a 2-1 lead.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Cardenas.
