Warheads Sneak Past Angel Kitties, 4-3
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Amarillo Warheads got the win.
Amarillo Warheads starter Ánibal Maes pitched a strong game against the Bethlehem Angel Kitties at Kittie Park, leading the Warheads to victory, 4-3. Amarillo reliever Teijo Hagman picked up the win to move to 3-3. Joël Durand suffered the loss.
Amarillo used the clutch hitting of Ubbe Kerklaan to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Warheads the lead, 4-3. For the game, Kerklaan had 1 single and 1 double in 3 at-bats.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Bethlehem skipper Sal Haynes.
The 5th-place Warheads now have a win-loss record of 44-46.
