No one was more impactful than Gilberto Silva in the 4-1 Fort Knox win over Bompton. Silva, who is tied for 10th in the SA- in triples with 3, was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Tommy van Zeist, now 3-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. Orlando Calderón was credited with the save for Fort Knox, his 6th of the season.
Early in the game, Silva had a 3-run home run for Fort Knox. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Centennial on top, 4-1.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Silva told the Fort Knox Citizen.
The Centennial, at 66-15, have a comfortable 19½-game lead in their division.
