Boston Gets 3-2 Road Win
|
Pittsburgh Grounds was the site of a tense game between the Pittsburgh Kingfishers and Boston Patriots.
Todd Hunter pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Pittsburgh Kingfishers, despite Hunter's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Boston Patriots at Pittsburgh Grounds. Rubén Vázquez was credited with the save for Boston, his 2nd of the season.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Patriots had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the third, when catcher Vance Lee hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Todd Hunter and made the score 3-2, Patriots. Lee was 1-4.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Lee said.
With the win, the Patriots have a record of 22-20.
