The North Ft. Myers Gators got a good effort from starter Gabriel Salas in defeating the Ogallala Octopi at Dodge Field. The final score was 4-2. The Gators are now 29-45, while the Octopi fall to 39-35.

The Gators got an important contribution from center fielder Simon Goodman, who in the bottom of the fifth punched a first pitch fastball into left for a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Gators ahead, 4-2.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Salas said.
