The Northwest Territory Beavers got a stellar effort from pitcher Jim Smith, helping Northwest Territory score a win over the visiting Long Island Ducks, 6-2. The win has Northwest Territory at 5-7.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Beavers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the sixth, when center fielder Xing-fu Jiang hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Hoshi Kojima and made the score 3-1, Beavers. Jiang was 1-4.

"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Jiang.
