Octopi Best Angel Kitties in Pitching Duel

Ogallala got a strong outing from Homer Mathis as the Octopi defeated the Bethlehem Angel Kitties, 2-0, at Nebraska Aquarium. Mathis, the winner, moves to 6-4. He threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. The Octopi sit in 4th place in the Silver Low A with a record of 34-30.
The Octopi got a big at-bat from second baseman César García. For the game, García went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Ogallala a 2-0 lead.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Mathis.
