Pitcher Sidney Jones was sensational for the Ogallala Octopi in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Surprise Shockers. Jones picked up the win, and it was well-earned. The winning pitcher was Jones, now 7-6. He tossed 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Guy Kooijmans earned the save, his 3rd, for the Octopi.

The Octopi grabbed the lead in the bottom of the third. With one out, César García hit a 2-run home run off Luis Romero, putting Ogallala in front, 4-0. For García, it was his 5th home run of the season.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Jones.

With the win, the Octopi have a record of 32-30.
