Shockers Get One-Run Win at Ogallala
|
Nebraska Aquarium was the site of a tense game between the Ogallala Octopi and Surprise Shockers.
Surprise picked up a win at Nebraska Aquarium, bumping off the Ogallala Octopi, 3-2. Pitcher Héctor Salas was a major reason the Shockers emerged victorious. Ivano Rashin closed the game out for Surprise, earning his 9th save.
Surprise used the bat of Gerben Rijsdijk to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Shockers ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"It was a solid team effort," said Salas after the game.
The Shockers sport a record of 23-38.
