5-3 Loss to Centennial Extends Surprise Losing Streak
|
The Fort Knox Centennial beat the Surprise Shockers, 5-3. Fort Knox pitcher and Seoul, South Korea, native Yeong-suk Yi led the way. In 6 innings, Yi surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Orlando Calderón earned save number 2 this season.
Fort Knox used the timely hitting of Francisco Pérez to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Centennial ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Fort Knox manager Justin Saginov.
Surprise is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 8 in a row.
