Despite a fine performance by shortstop Ubbe Kerklaan, the Amarillo Warheads lost to the Bethlehem Angel Kitties, 4-3. Kerklaan was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. With this game in the books, Bethlehem is 24-21, Amarillo 23-22.
Namik Azad drove in one run for Bethlehem. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the sixth, Azad came through with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Angel Kitties in front, 4-3.
"It was our day today," Azad told the Bethlehem Bulletin. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
