Flamingos Fell Hurricanes, 5-1
|
Ratko Peric never let Cape Coral get something going. The Las Vegas left-hander commanded his sinker in pitching the Flamingos to a 5-1 win. Francisco Díaz picked up the save for Las Vegas, his 1st of the year. Cape Coral has now lost 5 in a row.
The Flamingos got an important contribution from first baseman Pedro Basconcillos, who in the bottom of the fifth knocked a first pitch curveball into left-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Flamingos ahead, 3-1.
"It was a solid team effort," said Basconcillos after the game.
