The Shady Side Zoomies easily defeated the Ogallala Octopi, 12-2, at Nebraska Aquarium, with third baseman Reynaldo Díaz a main contributor to the win. He went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for Shady Side. The winning pitcher was Bill Bray. He tossed 98 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. Melvin Adams was credited with the save for Shady Side, his 1st of the season.

Juan Martínez had an important at-bat with one out in the top of the ninth, when he hit a bases-clearing double. His 9th double of the season put Shady Side on top, 10-2.
