Fort Knox Edges Surprise, 1-0, Corona Ks 10
|
The Fort Knox Centennial and Surprise Shockers put on a pitchers' duel.
The Fort Knox Centennial got a magnificent effort from pitcher Juan Corona, who kept Surprise hitters in check en route to a 1-0 Centennial win at Ballpark of Baxter. Jorge Vásquez got the save, the 3rd for him this season.
The Centennial liked what they saw from Corona. The 19-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Shockers to no runs on 1 hit over 5.1 innings, and striking out 10.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Fort Knox manager Justin Saginov.
This win makes it 6 in a row for Fort Knox.
